Know Your Bus Series - Juaymah Maureen Transport
Juaymah Maureen Transport was a bus company founded in the early to mid 90's in Las Piñas City by Elenita C. Mababangloob, the sole proprietor. The business name, as was common that time, was a composite of her two daughters' names. The company's main route was the Alabang-Lawton route, an important line that connects the capital to the southern business district and transport hub.
Later on, Juaymah Maureen acquired a terminal in General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), a resettlement town in eastern Cavite. No records were available yet to show when exactly JMT started operations in GMA, but by 2003 it held the legal privilege to the route with two franchises in the GMA-Lawton via Carmona line, totaling 15 units. Complementing those lines were two franchises for the Alabang-Lawton route, with 14 units. These franchises were operated using Hino RF and RK3H air-conditioned buses.
As no other company lasted in the GMA route at the turn of the century, JMT enjoyed success at the line, although it only operated the outbound (GMA - Lawton) route in the morning rush hours and the inbound (Lawton - GMA - Pala-pala) route in the evening. Its closest direct competitor was Metro Coastal (MCTI) which operated the Dasma-Ayala loop route passing thru GMA, and indirectly competed with JAC Liner and JAM Liner for passengers from Carmona (their lines converge at Carmona interchange).
Around 2012 or 2013, Juaymah Maureen ceased operating as a transport company. No reason for the closure was made apparent, but it might have possibly been caused by the ban on the entry of buses without proper terminals in the city of Manila, the same reason that PVP Liner closed down at around the same time. Another factor might have been the successful careers of Elenita Mababangloob's daughters, who by 2013 had both been working outside the country. Upon its closure, its various franchises had been bought by other companies.
Regal Starliner Transport Services, based in Cavite, bought one Alabang-Lawton franchise of Juaymah Maureen back in 2012. Don Aldrin Transport, Inc., based in Trece Martires in Cavite, bought the other Alabang-Lawton franchise authorizing 5 units.
South City Express, Inc., a Mercado-operated company and the successor of Pacita Liner/Green Star, bought one GMA-Lawton franchise (possibly even the second one) authorizing 10 (or 15) units. South City operated its Higer units under the name of Juaymah Maureen pending the approval of the franchise's transfer to South City's name, which was granted in 2016.
